What time is the hotel check-in and check-out?

Check-in times for Glen Clova Hotel are from 3pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is 11am on the day of departure.

What time is check-in and check-out for the lodges?

Check-in times for our luxury lodges at Glen Clova are from 5pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is 9.30am on the day of departure.

Do you offer early check-in or late check-out options?

We can offer early check-ins or late check-outs only subject to availability.  Anything over a 2 hour period will have a charge associated with it.

What’s included when I book direct?

Book any of our Highland hotel rooms direct and we will give you 20% OFF your stay You must book via our Book Direct Special offer for this discount. You will also enjoy free WiFi and free parking.

Are you a dog-friendly hotel & do you have dog-friendly lodges?

Yes! We love dogs and offer fully dog-friendly accommodation in the Scottish Highlands. Plus we are the perfect hotel for exploring Scotland with a dog. Simply step out of your door for a fantastic array of dog-friendly walks, hikes and places to swim.

Our steading rooms (8 in total) are all pet friendly as are all our lodges (excluding the Old Mill).  A maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are allowed as standard.  Additional dogs may be accepted upon application.

Does the hotel have a restaurant?

We have a fantastic restaurant on site as well as our hotel breakfast room. But if you do wish to dine with us then book your meals ahead of your stay as we book up fast!

Does Glen Clova Hotel have a bar?

At our beautiful Scottish hotel, we have a lovely wee Scottish bar, which is kept fully stocked with all your favourites as well as a wide array of Scottish whisky.

What are the roads like to the hotel?

Glen Clova Hotel and lodges are set at the far end of the B955. This is a ring road, and the local rule is to drive the high road (the one on the left) on the way to hotel and the low road on departure from the hotel. Both are equidistance to the hotel. This road is mostly wide enough for two cars to pass slowly and does offer passing places also. It is an easy road to drive, but not at speed. It is a country road, so look out for wildlife crossing, take your time, and enjoy the magnificent views.

Does Glen Clova Hotel have accessible rooms for guests with disabilities?

Yes, we have a fully accessible room in our Steading building. Please let our team know if you have any needs we can support you with throughout your stay. Our team are here to help make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible, regardless of disabilities. We fully welcome support dogs and will accommodate any needs you may have.

Do you have parking facilities on-site?

Glen Clova Hotel enjoys a large car park on-site for all our hotel and steading guests. Plus, each of our luxury Scottish holiday lodges enjoy their own private parking spaces, for up to two cars.

Does the hotel have EV Chargers?

Unfortunately, our rural location cannot facilitate EV chargers. You can, however, find multiple places in our local village of Kirriemuir which provide electric car chargers.

Is Wi-Fi available throughout the property?

We offer our guests high-quality Wi-Fi throughout the Highland hotel buildings and our luxury holiday lodges. Mobile reception is available in some areas, but some providers experience areas of blackout, where a Wi-Fi connection will be required. Once out of the resort and up the hills/on the roads the network connection improves. Please note we cannot control downtime due to forces out of our control, but this is a very rare occurrence.

Can I make a reservation without a credit card?

All hotel and lodge accommodation reservations require either a credit card to be held on file for the booking or for the entire amount of the stay to be paid in full at the time of booking.

What is your hotel cancellation policy?

See our full cancellation policy here. Deposits are non-refundable and special offers and deals booked may carry a separate cancellation policy, detailed on the booking.

Do you run hotel and self-catering seasonal promotions or packages?

At Glen Clova Hotel and Lodges we often have special offers on sale. These may be special packages and experiences or a discounted hotel or lodge deal. Please visit our special offers page for details of our current promotions or call us on 01575 550350.

Is breakfast included with my hotel stay?

If you are staying within our Highland hotel accommodation or steading rooms, and have booked directly with us through our website, then a full cooked breakfast per person is included with your stay each day.
Our self-catering lodges offer full cooking facilities for guests to make their own breakfast plans or lodge guests may book breakfast with us separately.

Do you have a hotel restaurant on-site at Glen Clova?

Glen Clova Hotel near Kirriemuir offers an excellent on-site hotel restaurant and bar. Our food is extremely popular, so please ensure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Is room service available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer room service at the Glen Clova Hotel or lodges. You can, however, pre-order prosecco, chocolates or flowers to your room for your arrival.

Does your hotel restaurant and breakfast service accommodate special dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)?

At the Glen Clova Hotel in the Cairngorms, we cater for your dietary needs. Please advise our team when booking your reservation of any special dietary requirements or needs you may have and our team will be happy to help.

Do you have a bar or lounge area?

Our cosy wee Scottish hotel enjoys a delightful bar, the Climbers Bar, which is available for drinks and food for guests, walkers, hikers and passers-by. The bar is very popular so reservations are usually required. We also have a lovely lounge/seating area at reception, with fabulous views of the Scottish glens.

Do you offer picnic lunches or takeaway meals for guests and hikers exploring the countryside?

Being situated in the Scottish Highland glens, we are delighted to offer guests a picnic lunch to enjoy on your travels. This is available to order from reception or contact us to book. Please return your lunch booking form to us by 7 pm the night before and your lunch will be available for pick up from 8 am each morning. Do you provide baby cot beds/cribs or extra beds?

We have a limited number of travel cots and blow-up beds available for children to share our hotel rooms and accommodation with parents. The infant cots are charged at £12 per stay and the blow-up beds at £20 per night. Please note that this cost includes breakfast for children sleeping on a blow-up bed. Not all rooms are suitable for an extra bed to be added so please contact us ahead of your stay, or call us on 01575 550350 if you wish to add an additional bed.

What type of Scottish accommodation is available at Glen Clova in Angus?

At the Glen Clova Hotel and luxury holiday lodges we have a wide range of Scottish accommodations available for you to enjoy. Snuggle up in our cosy hotel rooms, from classic rooms to family and four-poster rooms. Or bring your dog and enjoy our dog-friendly accommodation in the Highlands. Do you offer hotel room and lodge cleaning services during my stay?

For a stay of 3 days or fewer, we do not offer daily hotel room cleaning services as standard. If you would like a daily cleaning service, please advise on booking so that we may accommodate you. You can also contact us or call us on 01575 550350 to book this service. Replenishment of in-room tea trays and fresh towels can be requested at reception as required.

Lodges do not carry a cleaning service and will be deep-cleaned upon your departure for the next guest. If you require additional cleaning services, please contact us at reception prior to your stay.

What outdoor activities are available nearby?

As a Highland hotel based in the Cairngorms National Park, we are surrounded by amazing things to see and do. Set in the great Scottish glens, surrounded by beauty, we offer a truly special Scottish holiday. Enjoy plenty of Scottish walks, hiking and cycling from your door and in the neighbouring Highland Glens. Locally, you can also go wild swimming, fishing (in season) and we can also arrange clay pigeon shooting for you to try. Our hotel is near many fantastic villages and towns to explore such as Montrose, Dundee and Arbroath, with lovely Scottish beaches and rich in history. At our local village of Kirriemuir, you can enjoy the birthplace of Peter Pan, the local observatory and some lovely shops and walks. We really are ideally suited for family holidays, outdoor adventure holidays and dog-friendly holidays to Scotland. We have lots of things to do, so come along, explore some local castles, play golf, get outdoors and enjoy some R&R in the fresh Scottish air.

How far is Glen Clova Hotel & Lodges from the nearest town or city?

Our nearest village is Kirriemuir which is roughly 13 miles away. Here you will find lovely Scottish shops, a supermarket, EV charges, walks, places to eat and attractions.

Our nearest large town is Forfar which is around 15 miles away and enjoys larger shops, attractions, parks, gardens and restaurants for you to enjoy.

Do you offer transportation to local attractions or airports?

Unfortunately, we do not have vehicles on-site to offer transportation to any of our guests. Car hire options are readily available from the airport, or you can organise a special 4×4 rental experience from local company Nomadic Scotland.

Is the hotel close to any public transportation options?

The nearest public transportation is at Kirriemuir. Here you can book a taxi to and from the hotel, or if you are on a walking or cycling holiday, we are a stunning 13-mile walk or cycle from the Village.

Our nearest train station and airport are in the lovely, historic city of Dundee. Dundee is 32 miles from our Highland hotel.

Can I host an event or wedding at your Cairngorms hotel?

Absolutely! We are one of the best wedding and event venues in our area of Angus and the Cairngorms. We have a number of function suite options, including our stunning new weddings and events barn, with magical views of the Highland glens.
